We’ve all done it before, or maybe we’ve all just seen it done before – either way, drunk DJ requests are hi-larious.
Los Angeles based Mick Fiction has 10 years of club DJing under his belt, which must mean he has seen some THINGS, man. His blog No Breasts, No Requests chronicles some of the funny, drunk and sometimes cruel requests he’s been handed/found, as well as humourous signs hung up around DJ booths across the globe. The one time Dirty Sanchez guitarist insists the title of the blog isn’t a rule, it was just one of the first finds he posted. He says on the blog, “Plus it’s a whole lot more provocative than a boner-killing name such as ‘dj notes’. I actually appreciate requests, if they are in the vibe of the night and my set. Part of our job is to play what people want, and requests are a direct line to my peeps on the dance floor.” He also takes submissions – so if you’ve got a semi-decipherable song name scrawled on a boozed stained napkin, why not send it in. I think I
usually would just type my request on my iPhone and then wave it in front of the DJs face a lot :/.
