‘Train Tracks’ is a music movement that has been growing in popularity in Sydney over the past two years. Now it’s back and taking place Monday 6th May.
Now, we have no idea if this is legal or not so we’re in no way recommending that you ATTEND THIS EVENT! Maybe you’re the type of person who talks really loudly on your phone during peak hour or maybe you’re just seeking revenge on those folk, either way, Train Tracks is probably for you. It’s the type of guerrilla gig that would most likely annoy the heck out of anyone who isn’t a part of it, so if you’re travelling next monday either pen it in your diary or stay the flip away from the trains!
The night is kind of like a roving circus of musicians, artists, singers and well-wishers. A line up of emerging musical talent from Sydney is rallied to play on City Rail trains traversing the city, and a few weeks before the evening an invitation is sent out to anyone and everyone to come and take part.
The troupe is encouraged to dress creatively, sing loudly and keep an open mind for adventure.
Playing at the next event, ‘Tape Deck’, will be True Vibe Nation, The Rhythm Hunters and Amy Rose.
The Train Tracks team are estimating the ride to cost around $8 and ask all attendees to be “respectful of other people on the trains and platforms, as well as adhering to general train rules to prevent any complications with any grumpy cityrail officials.” Hmm, I just don’t know if that’s going to cut it!
Details of the event can be found here.
