With 1950’s inspired cocktails, a gourmet hotdog menu and a closing time of 5am on weekends, Surry Hills’ newest watering hole is giving us something a little different and providing hope that the Sydney live music scene is all but dead.
With its entrance hidden behind a phoney fifties Coke machine, The Soda Factory is Sydney’s newest secret – but not for long! You might remember the space as home to Tone. Now, the beautiful, old building has been stripped back and this industrial space on Wentworth Avenue has been transformed into a venue brimming with character and charm.
Promising acoustic sets to ease you into the week from Monday to Wednesday, and stepping things up from Thursday onwards with local and international acts as well as some dance floor action later in the night, The Soda Factory is another venue doing its bit for live music in Sydney.
The cocktail menu is not in any way pretentious. Instead, it’s a whole lot of fun. Think Pina Coladas, martinis, raspberry lemondae and vodka ice cream. Plus, there’s something for everyone on the hotdog menu too!
