FORWARD MILES WITH MT WARNING

MT Warning’s “Forward Miles” is lush.

Mikey Bee, the man behind Warning, hails from the North Coast of NSW and has a story to his creativity that many musicians and artists could only hope for. In the band’s own words:

“When Mikey Bee was playing a solo show in Australia, film-maker Taylor Steele happened to be in the audience and was intrigued by the performance. The film-maker approached the musician with a question, ‘how would a song sound from a man sinking into the ocean?’. The musician answered with a song washed with anticipation, determined lyrics, and denial. The filmmaker next showed the musician footage taken of people all over the world just before the sun rose one day, and asked to hear what that would sound like…A discovery of new music was explored. Together they pushed the idea of a song telling a unique story while being part of a visual story played out over an album. A journey from one side of the day to the other, as much as from one side of life to the end.”

MT Warning’s first official release is the electric-lush single “Forward Miles” – which we think is freaking ear-wormingly delicious. The film clip for the track was directed by Sybil Steele and stars the very dreamy Sarah Ruba.

The band has praise coming from every which way at the moment including words from Kingsmill, SMH, FasterLouder and pretty much everyone with an online platform. Numerous comparisons to Sigor Ros and The National have been made, taking note of the band’s song structure and composition with Time Out London writing, “Their music is thumping alternative rock, with electronic and post-rock influences from the likes of Sigur Rós.”

The band are doing the rounds overseas (already) including a performance at London’s Field Day, and were recently announced as support for The Temper Trap and the upcoming tour for The Rubens.
